Every year, the Nebraska Sports Council puts on the Cornhusker State Games. Meant to unite the sports lovers of Nebraska, the CSG is known as a great summer family activity. For years, many have competed in the games. During my time at Jacht, a student-run advertising agency, the Nebraska Sports Council came to the crew for help with increasing publicity to the games, specifically through their social media channels. By teaming up with fellow designers, account executives and social media strategists, we formulated a social media plan to bring excitement to the games. Working with an pre-established visual brand, we challenged ourselves through highlighting previous competitors with dynamic, eyecatching sports graphics. Countdowns were published as a form of encouragement to register, as well as weekly giveaways to encourage audience interaction amongst CSG’s channels.
